MOGIA code of conduct

MoGIA (Missouri Green Industry Association) is a collaborative network of individuals with shared interests, working together to foster positive interactions and advance our collective agenda. As stewards of this community, we are committed to creating an inclusive and respectful environment for all participants in our conferences and events.

MoGIA is dedicated to providing a safe and inclusive event experience for all, regardless of gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, neurodiversity, physical appearance, body size, ethnicity, nationality, race, age, religion, or other protected category.

Purpose

This Code of Conduct outlines the expected behavior of all individuals involved in MoGIA events, including sponsors, volunteers, speakers, attendees, vendors, and others. By participating in our events, you contribute to shaping a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for everyone.

Expected Behavior

Community members are expected to:

  • Show consideration and respect towards all participants.
  • Refrain from engaging in any form of discriminatory, harassing, or offensive behavior, whether verbal or non-verbal.
  • Speak up if they witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct.

Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to:

  • Intimidating, abusive, derogatory, or demeaning speech, materials, or conduct by any Participant related to gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, neurodiversity, physical appearance, body size, ethnicity, nationality, race, age, or religion.
  • Violence, threats of violence, or violent language directed against another person.
  • Sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, or otherwise discriminatory jokes and language.
  • Inappropriate photography or recording.
  • Posting event photos on social media without the prior permission of the individuals or owners of the content therein.
  • Boisterous, lewd, or offensive behavior or language, including but not limited to using sexually explicit or offensive language, materials or conduct, or any language, behavior, or content that contains profanity, obscene gestures, or racial, religious, or ethnic slurs.
  • Failure to obey any rules or regulations of the event venue.

Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior

Any individual found engaging in unacceptable behavior will be promptly addressed. Depending on the severity of the infraction, consequences may include a warning, expulsion from the event without refund, temporary ban from future events, or permanent expulsion from the MoGIA community.

Reporting Procedures

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, please notify a member of the MoGIA event staff or contact the MoGIA chair immediately. Your concerns will be treated with confidentiality, and appropriate measures will be taken to address the situation.
